Bike Out Hunger – Mansfield UPDATE
Due to the significant amount of road construction around Mansfield and our traditional route directions, we are having to cancel the 2016 Bike Out Hunger – Mansfield ride.
Please note that we are working on an even bigger and better event for 2017 and we will keep you posted on that as the specifics are finalized and as the date draws closer.
We do apologize for the inconvenience of cancelling an event but for the safety and enjoyment of our riders, we need to do this.
For those of you who have already paid, a full reimbursement is forthcoming if you don’t have it already.
Riding in Mansfield (and surrounding areas) again to feed hungry kids in Mansfield.
By participating, you get to pair what you love (riding) with doing great good in the community (feeding hungry kids). This year’s ride will help fund the weekend backpack feeding program in Mansfield. The children on the reduced or free lunch program during the school week often go hungry over the weekend. In fact, some school districts have nicknamed Monday “throw-up Monday” due to the number of children who come to school so hungry, they make themselves sick eating too much breakfast. We can help end that.
We are also funding a groundbreaking new project, Snow Food, that delivers food to key distribution points where hunger at-risk students live when schools are closed for inclement weather. If a student relies on the food at school, when school is unexpectedly closed, they are stuck at home where hunger dwells.
