The Bike Out Hunger El Paso ride, benefitting El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is coming up this Saturday. There is already a great response by the community from cyclists to bike shops and sponsors. About 50 riders have signed up and we are expecting that many again to sign up at the event…so come early!
Some of the cyclists are riding because they grew up in a home with far too little food. Others because they believe that no one should go without food when there is so much around. All of the participants are helping feed hungry kids in El Paso which has one of the highest food insecurity rates in the state.
Each pedal stroke and mile ridden raises money and awareness about the hunger needs around us. Jaime Navarro, a key person in bringing the ride to El Paso is proud of the event and the community already, “It really looks like the cycling community is coming together nicely in support of Bike Out Hunger – El Paso to support feeding the hungry families through El Pasoans Fighting Hunger food bank.”
Take some time this Saturday to come ride, come support the riders and find a way to help the hungry families in your neighborhood.
