Heat Training Similar to Altitude Training

Yes, it’s getting hot. But, it can actually help your training.
Last summer’s article from NYT describes why this is the case. What I know is that when it’s hot, it’s harder to ride fast and harder to run fast for long periods.
The basic premis is that when working out in the heat, your body is pumping more blood to your skin to cool and less to your working muscles…which mimics the effects of the thinner air in higher altitudes.
