With the continued growth and enthusiasm around triathlons, many children of triathletes are begin to participate. Our six-year-old son has done four tris and really enjoys them. In children’s triathlons, as with any other organized sport for children, there is a balance between being actively fit to participate and a child’s main focus: having fun. If the child isn’t having fun, I’m going to bet neither is their primary coach (you).
So, while it’s exciting to see “Jr.” take up something you love doing, don’t push. Kona is years off for them.
