Sitting in a car in traffic is one of my most hated wastes of time. So, occasionally I commute to work, to the dismay of my wife. Since that’s a touchy subject, I have committed to do more frequently is bike to the grocery store and home-local errands. Also keep a spare bike (cheap off of Craig’s List) that I leave in my office and ride to meetings, coffee shops and sometimes just to get out of the office a bit.
Obviously, some cities are set up better than others for cycle commuting and errands. Bicycling Magazine has some charts, graphs and information on this that I found interesting enough to share. Read the article.
