Weigh down

The scale can change your day. Today, it did mine.

This morning I stepped on the scale at the Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center before my planned run.  I decided to hit the weights for the first time in a long, long time. And yes, I can feel the sore coming on.

I’m eating several times a day, as usual, and I’m really not making very good food choices, yet my weight still dropped a couple pounds to 148. Thus, I hit the weights. I weighed more than this on Ironman prerace weigh in. This just proves that muscle does weigh more than fat.

Weighing less can really help on the climbs, but at some point, weighing too little also points to muscle loss, which doesn’t really help climbing, or riding, at all.

So, off to eat second breakfast.
